About Me
I first got interested in forensics when I got selected into my junior high's Science Olympiad team which was, and is, one of the best Science Olympiad teams in the nation. I quickly grew an interest towards and began focusing on the Crimebusters event (among other events like Write it Do it and Potions and Poisons). I also quickly began consistently placing in the top 3 for Crimebusters at regional, state, national, and other invitational Science Olympiad tournaments. To develop my interest, I began looking online for resources. This was when I first realized that there was an extremely limited amount of both beginner friendly and detailed forensics related materials online. I was also selected into my high school's Science Olympiad team and quickly began specializing in the Forensics event. Once again, I began consistently ranking high in the tournaments.
As my interest continued to develop, I was given an opportunity to work with a mentor with the goal of creating a beneficial final product. I was able to work with Dr. Daniel Wescott of Texas State University on a project focusing on forensic anthropology. Throughout the mentorship, I was able to learn a lot about the methods of stature estimation in forensic anthropology, and I was able to create this website as my final product.
Through my years of working with and learning about forensics, I have learned that, while forensics has exponentially grown in popularity, it is still quite difficult to find useful learning materials online. Therefore, I created a forensics club at my school to not only get to know people with similar interests as me but also to share what I have learned over the years and receive information from others.
Ultimately, I want to make forensics resources more widely attainable for people and to help potential interested people to flourish and develop their interests.
